An African Millionaire is a play by Edgar Wallace.

D.C. Boonzaier (1980) wrongly lists it as The African Millionaire.

The original text

Inspired by the life of Cecil John Rhodes the play was possibly written while Wallace was still in South Africa and was staged by Leonard Rayne in 1904. The text was not published till 1972 when it appeared as a "Davis-Poynter playscript", published in London by by Davis-Poynter Ltd.,

Translations and adaptations

Performance history in South Africa

1904: Produced by Leonard Rayne in the Opera House in Cape Town in 1904. It was apparently a dismal failure and closed after 6 days, and for it never revived by Rayne.
