A musical and literary club in Cape Town, for which Mr T.P. Hill was the secretary in 1848-9, and where he took the lead in elocution and literary studies. In the Report[1] of the subscribers meeting, it is recorded that he donated an amount of £4 11s 4d to the Public Library of Cape Town in 1849, in his capacity as secretary, since the Amicable Club had apparently closed down.
