Amicable Club
A musical and literary club in Cape Town, for which Mr T.P. Hill was the secretary in 1848-9, and where he took the lead in elocution and literary studies. In the Report[1] of the subscribers meeting, it is recorded that he donated an amount of pounds to the Public Library of Cape Town in 1849, in his capacity as secretary, since the Amicable Club had apparently closed down.
