Alpha Beta is a play by British playwright E.A. Whitehead [1] (born 1933). The play is a study of collapsing marriage, spaced over nine years and running from an ingrained routine of rows and sexual frustration to the man's miserable compromise as a Sunday daddy.

1973: Described as “… a savage, vicious modern play” by Brian Astbury, it was first performed in South Africa at The Space (Cape Town) from 30 May to 23 June 1973, directed by David Muir with Yvonne Bryceland as Norma Elliot and Percy Sieff as Frank Elliot. Sound by Angelo Iatrou, lighting by David Muir and stage manager Bee Berman.
A Don Hughes production was directed by Aubrey Berg, performed at the President Theatre, Plein Street, Johannesburg. Date unknown.
