Son of Harry Stodel, he worked for I.W. Schlesinger’s African Theatre Trust from the very beginning, becoming General Manager of African Consolidated Theatres in 1951. Responsible for providing a wealth of entertainment from grand opera to films and musicals, Christmas pantomimes and wartime charitable productions. Brought numerous international stars to the country including Danny Kaye, Tito Gobbi, Gracie Fields, and Marcel Marceau.
