Alan Coates (19**-). Actor, voice artist.

Biography

He was born in Cape Town

Training

Career

Alan has worked in London with The National Theatre at the Young Vic and with the Royal Shakespeare Company. In New York, Broadway credits include the Tony Award winning Dracula, Scapino, Sherlock Holmes and Death and the King's Horseman. Extensive regional credits in the USA include the Oregon and Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festivals.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

TV and film include Tracking on SABC and The Arrival with Charlie Sheen.

In Cape Town he is at present (2001) a voice artist for e-TV.

He played Brabantio and Lodovico in Othello, 2001.
