1957: First professional production by National Theatre Organisation in 1957, playing for 190 performances. Directed by Anna Neethling-Pohl, featuring Mathilde Hanekom as Martha, Elsa Fouché, Reenen van Niekerk, Jaco van der Westhuizen, Bobbette Fouché, Derek Swanepoel, Mari Minnie, Johan van Zyl.
