A 1972 play by British playwright Alan Ayckbourn. [1]

Subject

Divided into three acts, the play documents the changing fortunes of three married couples. Each act takes place at a Christmas celebration at one of the couples' homes on successive Christmas Eves. [2]

Performance history in South Africa

The Company staged this play designed by Anthony Farmer and co-directed by John Hussey and Mannie Manim with Diane Appleby, Graham Armitage, Naomi Buch, Wilson Dunster, Kerry Jordan and Gay Lambert at the Market Theatre in November 1977.

Ken Leach directed the play in 1978 for a Baxter Company '78 production with Henry Goodman, Grethe Fox, Keith Grenville, Sandra Prinsloo, Wilson Dunster, Michele Maxwell. (Source: Barrow, Brian & Williams-Short, Yvonne (eds.). 1988. Theatre Alive! The Baxter Story 1977-1987).
