First performed at the Royal Surrey Theatre, London, in 1857 and published as Lacy's acting edition volume 30 by Thomas Hailes Lacy in the same year.

1875: Performed by Disney Roebuck and his company in the Bijou Theatre, Cape Town, on 29 April, with East Lynne (Wood).

1875: Performed by Disney Roebuck and his company in the Bijou Theatre, Cape Town, on 13 May, with Pygmalion and Galatea ().

1876: Performed (possibly as The Quiet Family) by Disney Roebuck and his company in the Athenaeum Hall, Cape Town, on 5 May and 2 June, with East Lynne (Wood).
