Performance history in South Africa

1850: Performed on 11 September by "Captain Hall's Company" (popular name at the time for the Garrison Players) in the Garrison Theatre, Cape Town , with as afterpiece The Sentinel by J.M. Morton.

1850: Repeated by "Captain Hall's Company" on 17 September, this time with J.M. Morton's Box and Cox as afterpiece.

1971: Presented by the University of Cape Town's University Dramatic Society at the Little Theatre in June, directed by David Lan.
