(18**-18**) Dutch-speaking South African who was deeply involved in the English amateur theatre during the mid-1800s. In 1845 he was an active member of All the World’s a Stage, acting as one of the stewards for the Roeland Street Theatre, inter alia for a production of Charles XII and The Irish Tutor on 22 August, 1845. By 1847 he was the secretary of the Private Amateur Company.
