A.W. Cole (18*-18*) was a performer and playwright.

Also known as Cresswell or Mr Cresswell

He apparently performed for the Royal Alfred Dramatic Club under the pseudonym Cresswell in 1860-61, and for them he wrote an original interlude called The Plagued Professor, the characters based on members of the Royal Alfred Club. This was performed by the Sefton Parry company in their farewell performance with the Royal Alfred Dramatic Club on 18 February, 1861, with Duchess or Nothing (Gordon) and The Unfinished Gentleman (Selby).

Wrote a Christmas pantomime entitled Little Jack Horner(1866), also known as Harlequin ABC.
