The original text

The text was published in L'Avant-scène théâtre (no 425, 1967), and the work was first performed at the Théâtre des Bouffes-Parisiens in 1968.

Translations and adaptations

Translated into Afrikaans as 4 Vertrekke en 'n Tuin and as Hartlam is dit jy?, both versions by Rita Elferink. The performance text of Hartlam is dit jy? was published as a DALRO Playscript in 1975.

1978: 4 Vertrekke en 'n Tuin presented by Libertas Theatre Club, 1-4 March. Directed by Marie van Heerden, featuring Herman Binge, Johan Fourie, Juanita Swanepoel, Dirk Winterbach, Sandra Temmingh and Coreen Olivier.

1984: Hartlam is dit jy? presented by Universiteitsteater Stellenbosch in the H.B. Thom Theatre in May, directed by Herman Pretorius.
