Üble Laune ("The Bad Mood") is a play in four acts by August Friedrich Ferdinand von Kotzebue (1761-1819)[1].

Translations and adaptations

Translated into Dutch as Kwade Luim by Jan Steven van Esveldt Holtrop[2] and published in 1814.

The Dutch title also appears as as De Kwade Luim or even De Kwaade Luim in Bosman, 1928.

Performance history in South Africa

1818: Produced in Dutch by the amateur company Tot Nut en Vermaak on 5 November in their own theatre. Wrongly listed by the company and/or Bosman as De Kwade Luim.

1827: Produced in Dutch by the amateur company Tot Nut en Vermaak on 21 April (again wrongly listed by the company and/or Bosman as De Kwade Luim), with De Brandschatting (Von Kotzebue).

1833: Produced in Dutch by the amateur company Tot Nut en Vermaak on 24 August (this time listed by the company and/or Bosman as De Kwaade Luim), with De Engelsche Goederen (Von Kotzebue).
