Who Wants a Guinea? is a comedy in five acts by George Colman the Younger (1762 – 1836)[1].

The original text

First performed in the Theatre Royal, Covent Garden on 18 April 1805, and published in 1805, reprinted many times, also in a number of collections.

Performance history in South Africa

1823: Performed in Cape Town on Saturday 15 July by the Garrison Players in the African Theatre, with as afterpiece Raising the Wind (Kenney).
