Directed by Janice Honeyman for a run produced by Pieter Toerien in 1986. Opened on 16 March at the Alhambra Theatre Johannesburg. Set and costumes designed by Johan Engels. Lighting by Jannie Swanepoel. Costume co-ordinator John Tullis. Choreography by Anton van Niekerk. Cast - Vaslav Fomitch Nijinsky, premier danseur of the Ballets Russes: acted by Robert Whitehead, danced by Anton van Niekerk. Serge Pavlovitch Diaghilev, impressario and founder of the Ballets Russes: Richard Haines. Alexandre Benois, designer for the Ballet: John Whiteley. Lydia Nelidova, member of the corps de ballet: Lynne Maree. Romola Karlova de Pulzky, society and aspirant dancer: Jana Cilliers. Second Male Dancer: Gavin Clur. First Female Dancer: Lynette Murray.
