He was married to Judith Krummeck.
Youth
Training
Ray graduated with a B.Mus. from Unisa and UCT where he studied under Thomas Rajna.
Career
He plays piano and trombone and has a special interest in accompaniment and theatre music. In 1981 he was teaching music at the Diocesan College.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
He wrote music for and was the musical director for Scathkadie the Sorceress.
