Nicholas Ellenbogen's Horn of Sorrow and Elephant of Africa
Nicholas Ellenbogen's Horn of Sorrow and Elephant of Africa is a collection of two plays edited by Nicholas Ellenbogen and Liz Szymczak and published by Theatre for Africa for use in Western Cape Schools, 2003.
Contains: the texts of Horn of Sorrow and Elephant of Africa, with a biography of Ellenbogen, a history of Theatre for Africa, a full listing of his plays up to 2003, commentaries and background information by Ellebogen and colleagues and diverse other educational notes and tools. Also contains information on his theories about theatre and his working process.
The entire collection was also translated into Afrikaans as Nicholas Ellenbogen: Horing van Hartseer en Olifant van Afrika by a team consisting of: Anina Joubert (the notes), Frans Swart and Christien Coetzee (Olifant van Afrika) and Maulise Kotzé (Horing van Hartseer). Also published by Theatre for Africa in 2003 for use in Western Cape schools.
