Maggie Soboil (Margaret) (1944- ) is a South African-born American actress, satirist, voice artist and producer.

Career

She worked for PACT, CAPAB and The Space.

She formed a revue partnership with Frank Lazarus, performing across the world before she settled in the United States where she works as porducer and actress, mainly in film and television.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Maggie helped create and performed in An Evening with Maggie and Frank in 1968.

She performed in The Beggar's Opera (CAPAB 1965, The Mask and the Face as Elisa Zanotti for PACT in 1967, Heartbreak House (PACT 1967), Black Comedy (PACT 1972), in a performance of America Hurrah at the Little Theatre in Cape Town in the 1970s, as The Princess Huncamunca in CAPAB’s production of The Tragedy of Tragedies, or The Life and Death of Tom Thumb the Great in 1972, and in Annie Get Your Gun (CAPAB 1973).

At The Space in the mid-1970s she performed in Fallen Angels, Luv, Ooh! La-La and Maggie Soboil / Merton Barrow (a cabaret)

In 1979 she performed in God's Forgotten at the La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club in New York City.
