East Coast Radio
East Coast Radio is a Durban based radio station.
The station
Deriving from Radio Port Natal, founded in May 1967 and broadcasting from the new SABC Broadcasting House at 100 Fort Road, serving the Durban area. Sarel Marais was the first male voice on air, accompanied by Laetitia Vorster. The station grew in popularity into the 1970s, heavily featuring local personalities and shows.
When the station upgraded its technology to include stereo broadcasts, it was rebranded to RPN Stereo.
When the station was sold to the Kagiso Media Group on 1 July 1994, it became known as East Coast Radio
