E. Winders
Colour-Sergeant E. Winders served in the North Lincolnshire Regiment of Foot when the Regiment was sent to the Eastern Frontier of the Cape Colony (now the Eastern Province, South Africa) between 1860 and 1862, shortly after the Xhosa cattle-killing movement and famine (1857-1858). The regiment was based in Grahamstown and Keiskama Hoek. (Modern spelling: Keiskammahoek.)

Colour-Sergeant E. Winders performed in one show with the Sergeants of the Regiment during his stay in the Eastern Frontier.
July 29, 1860: Acted in the Sergeants of the Regiment's three-act drama production of Wallace, the Hero of Scotland. (Lord Saulis).
