Die Bo-kamer ("The loft room") is an Afrikaans play by Henriette Grové (1922–2009)

Sometimes written as Die Bokamer

The original text

Basically it tells of the family of grandmother Susara van Biljon, who excercises an eery influence on the stress-filled people in the drawing room below, virtually pushing them to insanity, without ever descending from her room above.

No trace of a published version of the text has been found so far.

Performance history in South Africa

1960: First performed as part of the 1960 Union Festival by Volksteater at the Aula in Pretoria, directed by Richard Daneel, with a cast that included Deon de Klerk, Reneé de Vos, Laurike Meerkotter, Francis Nel and Helen van Pletzen.
