Cecile Henriette Ruwers
Cecile Henriette Ruwers (1879-1965) was a dance and drama teacher and director.

Biography
Born in the Netherlands. She came to South Africa with her father and family in 1896.
She was married to Jacob Punt, also Dutch-born. They were deported out of South Africa in 1900 because of Jacob Punt's political behaviour. The family returned to South Africa after the Anglo-Boer war, settling in Pretoria.
Her daughter, Jacoba, was a successful actress, director and producer who used the stage name Cobie Court.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
She ran a Drama and Dancing Studio in Pretoria.
She staged a number of productions with her pupils, including:
1918: The True Story of Jack and Jill
1919: A Visit to Marken
1923: Moonshine
