The Pretoria News is a respected newspaper founded in Pretoria by Leo Weinthal (1865 - 1930), appearing for the first time on 11 June 1898. It ceased publication during the Boer War, in 1903 Vere Stent acquired the newspaper and edited it till 1920.
It was later taken over by the Independent Newspapers group of publications.
