Les deux Avares
("The Two Misers") An "opéra bouffon" or comic opera in two acts. The libretto written Fenouillot de Falbaire (Charles-Georges Fenouillot de Falbaire de Quingey, 1727-1800[1]) and music by André Grétry (André Ernest Modeste Grétry , 1741–1813[2]).

Performed for the King at Fontainebleau on 27 October 1770, and in the Théâtre Italien, Paris, on 6 December 1770.
South African performances
1809 Produced in the original French by the local French amateurs, in Cape Town on 25 March, as afterpiece to Le Jeu de l’Amour et du Hasard (Pierre de Marivaux).
