Lieutenant Pasley R.A. (18**-18**) was an officer in the 73rd Regiment at the Cape and amateur actor in the 1850s. Popular because of his "inimitable acting and self-possession" (F.C.L. Bosman, 1928[1]:p.404), he had major roles in most of the pieces put on by the Officers of the Garrison (or Captain Hall's Company) in 1852-3. These include The Illustrious Stranger, or Married and Buried, Bombastes Furioso and Did you ever send your wife to Camberwell? in 1853.
