Lt Hanson (17**-18*) was a member of the British garrison in Cape Town, and an amateur actor and sometimes a "director" for the Garrison Players. (He is confusingly also referred to as Lt Hansen, by Bosman[1] on p. 143).

He and Lt Prescott, are listed as the "Directors" for the first two performances in 1812, (i.e. Speed the Plough and The Irishman in London (6 July); and A Cure for the Heart Ache and The Jew and the Doctor (12 July) ). Presumably he was also one of the players in some or all of these and following pieces.
