Poison

by David Kramer and Taliep Petersen. A serious musical, based on Othello, which looks at the the drug trade and gangsterism in Cape Town. First directed for CAPAB by Janice Honeyman at the Nico Malan Theatre in Cape Town 1992, designs by ** Botha, choric work by Hotep Galeta, choreography by Christopher Kindo, and featuring Steve Walsh, Jenny de Lenta, Pierre Neethling, Didi Moses and Jody Abrahams. Later rewritten as a full-on musical and developed and directed by Kramer with the Volkswagen Music Active drama group at the Baxter Theatre in 1994, when Kramer won the FNB Vita Award for Best Director of a Musical. Also played in Malaysia.
