(1928 – 2007) An Australian stand-up comic and TV actor.

Biography

Born Leo Grills in Hobart, Tasmania, he adopted Lucky Grills as his professional name. Initally worked as a stand up comic in the Sydney clubs, then became a household name in Australia when he played the title role of unconventional detective "Bluey" Hills in the television series Bluey in 1976.

His contribution to South African theatre

Though unknown in South Africa, he was brought to the country in 1970 by African Consolidated Theatres to star in the revue the All-New, Non-Stop Minstrel Scandals (Brickhill-Burke).
