A isiXhosa play by Mary W. Waters. A version of the story of the tragic Xhosa starvation resulting from the slaughter of the cattle, in response to the visions of the prophetess Nonqause or Nongqawuse.
Waters wrote quite a few versions of the incident over the course of some four years, including The Light – Ukukanya (a drama of the history of the Bantus, 1600-1924, 1925), The Story of the Native Doctor , 1926), .
