Never Too Late by Sumner Arthur Long?*. A popular Broadway musical comedy, which opened in New York in 1962 and ran to 1965. Brought to the Johannesburg Civic in 1964 by Hymie Udwin’s Theatre International. Elaine Perry directed with American actors Nancy Coleman, Roland Winters, Helen Lewis and James Kirkwood.


Stage set designs: two watercolour sketches, one incompletely painted, of sets for Never too late, a production at the Civic Theatre, Johannesburg, in 1964, with an inscription addressed to Farmer by James Kirkwood on one of them (NELM [Collection: FARMER, Anthony]: 2007. 18. 3. 23).
