A Grahamstown-based troupe of black actors, founded in the early 1970s by Don MacLennan, who remained closely associated with them. They collaborated with him on Job Mava (written and performed in 1972/3, published 1981/2) and had their last performance in 1975 in Cape Town with MacLennan’s adaptation of Gorki’s My Childhood. They also had exchange agreements with Rob Amato’s East London based Imitha Players and Athol Fugard’s Port Elizabeth group the Serpent Players.
