District Six – The Musical

by David Kramer and Taliep Petersen. A sensationally popular and award-winning musical play lamenting life in and destruction of the Cape Town suburb. First performed in the Baxter Theatre 1987, under the direction of Fred Abrahamse, presented by The Baxter Theatre and Blik Productions, and had a number of runs there. Also toured the country and went to the Edinburgh Festival in 198* and finished its first run at the Joseph Stone Theatre in 1990. Unpublished. Revived at the Baxter Theatre by Kramer in 2002, winning the authors a Fleur du Cap Award for Best Contribution to a Musical or Revue. District Six – The Musical by David Kramer and Taliep Petersen. This musical ran at the Baxter for six months in 1987 before moving to The Market Theatre in February 1988.
