CHOPIN, Eugenie (19**). American soprano, opera singer and singing teacher. Holds a Masters Degree in Music from Louisiana State University, USA (1970). After moving to South Africa she started teaching singing in at the Opera School in Pretoria in 1976 and later in Johannesburg. She has won 3 Nederburg Opera Awards, for the roles of Marenka in The Bartered Bride, Desdemona in Othello and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni. [1]
