Actor, writer, director, producer, workshop leader and teacher/researcher.

Biography

Mojisola Adebayo was born in Britain of Nigerian/Danish descent.

Youth

Training

She has a BA Drama and an MA Physical Theatre and has undertaken extensive training with Augusto Boal, Black Mime Theatre and others.

Career

Mojisola has been an actor with the Royal Shakespeare Company, a dramaturg with Pegasus Theatre Company, and an Associate Artist at Pan Centre for Intercultural Arts. She has also taught at Goldsmith's college on the MA in Applied Drama: Theatre in Educational, Community and Social Contexts and contributed to Performance Theory/Practice on the undergraduate programme.

Her other creative experiences have included writing and directing Palestinian actors in the West Bank; teaching theatre for social change to community workers in Cape Town and constructing plays with slum dweller arts‐activists in Ahmedabad.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

In 2008 she visited South Africa with her one-woman play Moj of the Antarctic, which toured extensively across Southern Africa under the auspices of the British Council and taught theatre for social change to community workers in Cape Town for CAP.
