A one-woman play by Vivian Moodley, about Gladys, a poor but enterprising vegetable hawker, grappling with her past as an activist and wife to a wandering husband, and her present day dealings with indian and white “madams”. Unpublished.
First staged, directed by Vivian Moodley, featuring Petunia Ramaphala, at Natal Technikon, Department of Drama in 1993 and then at the Grahamstown Festival in 1994.
The same production was staged in the Pieter Roos Theatre at The Civic in June 1995, presented by Enact (Ensemble of Artists Communicating Through Theatre).
