Edrich Photographic Studios
A famous photography studio in Stellenbosch, founded by three young students in 19**. They took virtually all the studio and theatre photographs for the town, signing themselves simply as “Edrich”. This continued till the mid 1980s, when they got less theatre work, and by late 1990s it had closed and the premises let to an art gallery. However, the entire collection of negatives was bought by Erhardt Thiel, who then went into parthnership with Ivan Volschenk and Gabriel ***** to buy the Edrich name. In 2000 the partnership was dissolved, Volschenk buying the Edrich imprint, Thiel retaining the Edrich negatives and a share in Edrich Express, a developing agency, . with **.
