Member of a Committee of philanthropic gentlemen involved with the Philanthropic Society for the emancipation of slave children, who organized a production of Mortons's The Cure for the Heart Ache and Kenney's Raising the Wind by All the World's a Stage in the Cape on 21 July 1832.
