by Pavel Kohout (1928-). A play about a clown, written in Czech and performed in 1966-7. Published in 1968 as August August, August: cirkusové představení s jednou přestávkou by Orbis. Called August August, the Clown in the English Pavel Kohout website[1].

Performance history in South Africa

First performed in Afrikaans, directed for CAPAB by German director Peter Kleinschmidt, 1970.

Directed in Afrikaans by Johann van Heerden with Drama students of Stellenbosch University in 1987.
