The Octoroon or "Life in Louisiana", by Dion Boucicault. A melodrama about a half-caste. Written in 1859, it was first??* produced in South Africa by Disney Roebuck on May 6, 1876, as the opening production of his Theatre Royal, Burg Street, Cape Town.
