Serieus
The pseudonym of an anti-theatrical campaigner in Cape Town, who wrote an article - "Iets over het dansen en de Toneelspelen" ("Something on Danse and Play-acting") in the influential journal, the Nederduitsch Zuid-Afrikaansch Tydschrift, with which he attacked the children's theatre of J. Suasso de Lima in particular, and theatrical presentations in general. This was one of the first serious shots fired in the "Puritan purge" or Anti-theatrical Campaign in Cape Town, which would ultimately lead to the closing of the African Theatre in 1838, among other things.
