The wife of Dr Edmund Somers and called "The Spouter" by Lady Anne Barnard for her active interest and involvement in Cape theatricals between 1799 and 1802. She wrote speeches, prologues and even a play (Attica in Africa) for performance at the Barracks Theatre. She also insisted on referring to the Hospital Theatre as "Sea-line". She wrote a prologue to their first production of of Foote's Teasle (accoring to Lady Anne Barnard), or Taste (according to Fletcher.)
