Bonfire Theatre Company

Founded in October 2005 by Paula Kingwill,Heather Schiff, Lesley Bester and Kyle Hudson. Run by a board of five directors: Heather Schiff, Mwenya Kabwe, Lesley Bester, Chris Wildman and Paula Kingwill. Paula Kingwill is the Artistic Director, supported by Heather Schiff. The company includes professional actors, musicians, drama and music therapists. Based on the concept of Playback Theatre, founded in the US in 1975, and with the audience in the driving seat of the creative process, use music, a couple of props and costumes, and some dynamic theatre skills to transform audience members' stories, without script, score or rehearsal, into mini stage productions in the blink of an eye. Since 2005 have performed more than 40 shows per year in public, corporate and community shows, shows for schools, organisations and private functions, at festivals and theatres around Southern Africa.
