Die Breytie-Boek/The Breytie Book is a bilingual (Afrikaans/English) collection of wide-ranging articles on South African Theatre dedicated to P.P.B. Breytenbach (24th January 1904-2nd March 1984), compiled by Temple Hauptfleisch, assisted by Eunice Fourie.

(Sometimes wrongly referenced as The Breytie Book/Die Breytie-Boek, it is also referred to as Die Breytie Boek in Afrikaans or as The Breytie Book in English. A fuller title - The Breytie Book: A Collection of Articles on South African Theatre Dedicated to P.P.B. Breytenbach - is also found.

The collection

Sponsored by Adcock-Ingram Limited and published by The Limelight Press in 1985, the volume contains articles and accolades by 25 friends and colleagues in the theatre industry, offering an overview of the theatre industry in the country in the from the 1930s to the mid 1980s. It was originally published as a limited edition, but has since been made available digitally at http://hdl.handle.net/10019.1/85403.
