Kosie House of Theatre

A production house that specializes in the design, production and production of presentations and elements for the stage and for television. Kosie House of Theatre was founded in 2006 by Kosie Smit who over the past ten years has made a name for himself in the South African entertainment industry as a set and lighting designer. His work is widely known and he has worked with some of the biggest names locally and abroad. However, he felt that the time had come to spread his wings a little wider. The first project was the production of Lizz Meiring's first DVD entitled, Elke ander duim ‘n dame, which was filmed and produced by Kosie House of Theatre last year. This is the first in a series of original Afrikaans theatre productions that will be filmed for DVD over the next few years. In 2008, two stage productions were produced by Kosie House of Theatre. Shirley Valentyn (in collaboration with Wordsmith Theatre Factory) was performed at the UJ Theatre in Johannesburg from 13-17 May 2008. Shaleen Surtie-Richards was in the lead role. Sing was presented in Roodepoort from 5-20 July 2008 (in collaboration with the Pro Musica Theatre) with Tobie Cronje, Lizz Meiring and Terence Bridgett in the lead roles. In 2009, the first of a series of DVDs was released of Amanda Strydom's one-woman shows, “State of the Heart”, produced by Kosie House of Theatre. In addition to Kosie House of Theatre's own projects, Jaco and his team of collaborators are still ready to serve a variety of clients on a daily basis with excellent service.
