Biography
Born Alison Reneé Hofer.
She completed her post graduate qualifications at the University of Stellenbosch, with a D.Phil. dissertation on The life and work of Yvonne Bryceland: an arts-based investigation in 2017.[1]
She has worked as a teacher and lecturer in South Africa, New Zealand and Switzerland, associated with Drama Departments at many top Universities, Colleges and Tertiary Institutes nationally and internationally.
She is also a director of And Action and board member of Theater am Pilatus.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
She has over 30 years experience working as an actor in TV and theatre and as an actor, director and writer in theatre.
As actor she appeared in films and TV series like In Her Line of Fire (2006), Life Is Wild (2007) and Inconceivable (2020).
As a teacher she has worked at a number of South African tertiary institutions, including Stellenbosch University, the University of the Western Cape, AFDA, City Varsity and others.
She has published various reviews in the South African Theatre Journal, including:
