The original text
Adapted from Elliott's 1994 film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, the stage version uses well-known pop songs as its score to tell of the comic adventures of two drag queens and a trans woman, who travel to the Australian town of Alice Springs on their lavender bus called "Priscilla" , to perform a drag show there.
The piece first opened in Australia at the Lyric Theatre, Sydney in October 2006, followed by productions on the West End (2009), and Broadway (2011). 2013 US tour 2013 UK tour 2015 UK tour 2019 UK tour
