The Land of Heart's Desire is a play written by Irish dramatist William Butler Yeats [1] (1865-1939).

First performed in the spring of 1894, at the Avenue Theatre in London.

Adapted as a chamber opera in one act (1989) by Hendrik Hofmeyr.

Performance history in South Africa

First performed in South Africa in 18*?

Moeder Ierland performed by the Volksteater in Pretoria in June 1940.

Presented by K.A.T. under the direction of Aletta Gericke in August 1942.
