David Dainow (1884-1961) was a journalist, poet, short story writer and playwright.

Biography

Born in Spitalfields, London in 1884, he became a journalist and author, and was at one stage the editor of the Zionist Record.

He passed away in Johannesburg on 31 January, 1961

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Besides short stories and a published anthology of poetry entitled I see light: Poems (1951), he also wrote at least one one-act play, Holding Aloof (1927).
