The Crack is a musical play by Mzwandile Maqina.
Original text
A play dealing with the crumbling edifice of Apartheid. Written in the early 1970s. The play was banned in rehearsal and the author placed under house arrest.
Performance history in South Africa
1974: The play was performed in the townships of Port Elizabeth, Makhanda (previously known as Grahamstown), Kimberly, Mafikeng, Bloemfontein and Soweto, before it travelled to Lesotho and Botswana.
